2012 Events/News
2012 Schedule is NOT finished yet.  So far only the FPNA Board and HPC Commission dates and Easter and Halloween childrens events and Luminaria dates are updated! The rest of the dates are leftover from our 2011 schedule and will be updated in early January 2012.  Thanks for your patience!

Infrequently, meetings are rescheduled or rooms changed due to holidays or room availability. Please call ahead to ask about any meeting times/dates/locations.  All Fisher Park Neighborhood neighbors are encouraged to participate in all meetings and events!

Egg Hunt for Fisher Park Children
For children of neighborhood residents and children of neighborhood businesses or organizations.  Event materials and activities are donated by the very generous residents of Delancey Street House on North Elm Street in the Fisher Park Neighborhood.

You bring your beverages of choice and a covered dish.  Last names beginning with A-F bring desserts, G-R bring appetizers and breads and sides, and S-Z bring main dishes.  Blankets, chairs, bug spray, openers are encouraged as well. Ice, cups, plates, cutlery and napkins are provided by the Fisher Park Neighborhood Association.  Aycock and College Hill neighbors are invited to join us!   Musical entertainment donated by the Fisher Park Neighborhood Asssociation.

National Night Out Against Crime Icy Social

Greensboro's police and fire employees join us for a cool treat, kids are introduced to our local police and fire staff, neighbors mingle, and we're all reminded of the importance of neighbors looking out for one another and communicating with police and neighbors when we see suspicious activities.

Halloween Parade & Party for Fisher Park Children
For children of neighborhood residents and children of our neighborhood businesses or organizations.
Sunday, October 28, 4:00 pm
Parade begins at the intersection of Carolina Street and Fisher Park Circle.  Wear your Halloween costumes!  Parade route is along Fisher Park Circle to Temple Emanuel on
North Greene Street, where the party commences with treats and drinks.  Neighbors, please come out to cheer on our children's parade!  In case of goulish weather, go directly to Temple Emanuel for the party.

Holy Trinity Church Broome Hall in the rear basement of Holy Trinity Church off Fisher Avenue.  ALL NEIGH0ORS, whether residents or business or associations located within the Fisher Park Neighborhood (anywhere north of Smith Street, south or Wendover Avenue, West of the Church Street RR tracks, and East of Green Hill Cemetery) are encouraged to attend.  Refreshments are kindly provided by your neighborhood Board volunteers.  Hear a review of the year's events and offer suggestions for our future.

Fisher Park Luminaria Kit Building Party
Wednesday December 5 at 6:00 p.m.
Rob Pope's home at 803 Simpson Street.  Neighborhood volunteers gather for light snacks and assemble Luminaria kits of candles, cups, and bags, then take them to over 25 Block Captains for delivery to hundreds of Fisher Park Neighborhood residents and businesses participating in our annual Luminaria display.

Fisher Park Luminaria Display and Open Houses (for Fisher Park Neighbors)
Sunday, December 9 at dusk (Rain date is Sunday Dec. 18)
Once again, Rob Pope generously organizes this event and several supremely welcoming neighbors open their homes to neighbors on Luminaria night. We encourage you to walk to any open houses, carol in groups, and make the most of a candle-lit evening. (In case of foul weather, the Luminaria shift to Sunday, December 16.  But December 9 is the only open house night.)  Our 2011 Fisher Park neighborhood open house will be announced.  For further details/questions contact volunteer Luminaria Coordinator Rob Pope 336-638-7706.
