Fisher Park Neighborhood
Park Work Day October 2011
Over 50 Fisher Park neighbors plus 11 youngsters and their parents
joined forces to "Take Back The Park"
from summer's overgrowth on October 15, 2011!
Thanks also to Fisher Park Park Committee CoChairpersons
Sally Atwood of Simpson Street and Carl Myatt of North Park Drive
for envisioning and organizing this autumn 2011 event.
While youngsters cleared trash from the creek, adults began
clipping, lopping, and hauling overgrowth to the street.
Before and after photos are mighty impressive!
Thanks to City Parks & Recreation Dept. for hauling away huge piles of overgrowth we brought to the street.
As noon approached, we began slowing down in anticipation of ...
... hot dogs with all the trimmins' purchased from the American Legion
and served by neighbors Elizabeth Garland and William Talton.
And when the mornings hustle and bustle was done
we certainly left Fisher Park better than we found it!
Thanks to all neighbors who participated including organizations such as First Presbyterian Church who donated several hours of their yard crew's time during "Take Back The Park" week!
Our Delancey Street friends ALWAYS give 110%!
