Captain J. Basil Fisher, for whom our neighborhood is named, is believed (well, perhaps only rumored!) to have built or briefly lived in a home at 212 South Park Drive.

Today the home is owned by Jeff and Mary Ellen Soles. Drive by their home and look up high to view this fanciful rooftop dormer.  Due to its historical significance, we often use this image as a neighborhood logo.

This story-book home on Magnolia Street was built in 1917. It is listed in the National Registry for Historic Places.  During 2000-2001 The Lajeunesse family performed a complete restoration, removing the aluminum siding, and the exterior was restored to its original design. We've heard this house is known as "Nonny's House" and there is a replica of it at the Greensboro Children's Museum."  The home is currently owned by Ann and Jodie Morphis.
The Carlson-Latham House at 605 N Church St is currently owned by David and Janet Craft.  The home was built in 1911-12 by a New England Architect name Fisher (no relation to Basil Fisher) for his new bride, but a few months before completion Mrs. Fisher passed away and the home was not occupied.  It was sold to local Chiropractor Carl Carlson, son-in-law to Lunsford Richardson of the Vicks Corporation.  The Carlsons moved in the mid-twenties and the house was occupied by several families until the Lathams purchased the house in the early fifties.  Allie Latham lived here until the late seventies.  The Floras family began a renovation in the early nineties and then sold the house to the Barnes.  David and Janet Craft plan additional renovations and improvements.  Known as the Carlson-Latham House, it is a County Landmark property known best for it's front porch, beveled and stained glass, and imposing position on large treed lot.
Ashley Davis and Jeremy Williams are rightly pround of their home renovation at 201 Leftwich Street.  Jeremy says "the home was completely renovated about a year ago
and we absolutely love it!"

Ashley and Jeremy's 1924 home (above) recently experienced a full 15-month renovation both on the interior and exterior.  This included a new roof, new HVAC, new wiring, and new plumbing.  On the exterior, the home was lightly sanded, painted and portions of the wooden siding were replaced, ceiling fans were added to the porch, and new landscaping added.  Inside, rooms were re-structured to provide a more open floor plan, all hardwoods were refinished, lighting fixtures were replaced, a full guest bath was added upstairs, the master bath upstairs was expanded with a garden tub and glass shower with new tile, and the downstairs bathroom was completely remodeled.  The kitchen was also renovated with a spanish tile floor, custom cabinets, granite countertops and new stainless appliances.  Whew! Time to rest and enjoy!

Austin George purchased this expansive house at 1119 Virginia Street through a foreclosure auction in 2009.  His enhancements include a new roof, paint, chimney resurfacing, front door stripping to expose the original wood, and much more inside.  A landscape make-over will begin this spring!  The original owner of this colonial revival style home, built between 1920-25, was C.S. Harrison, President of Harrison Printing Company.  See our website's Historic District page for a listing of many Fisher Park original home owners.)  Thank you to Austin George for effecting and sharing pride in his newly refurbished classic old Fisher Park home!
